CASHEL FARM NEWS

We were looking forward to pups from Kira but alas after all that anticipation she looks like she isn't pregnant this time.  We are hoping for a litter with Leica (Testarossa) and Seamus (Time Bandit) with expected arrival between the 15th and 20th of September.  We will keep you posted here.

LGRA - Large Gazehound Racing Association & CLCA

The LGRA meet June 21 and 22 in Payton Colorado sponsored by CLCA went off very well.  Several breeds were represented including one tiny Italian Greyhound.  On Saturday six greyhounds showed up including three nice yearlings brought up from New Mexico by Elaine Summerhill.  They made a very nice showing against two very experienced Cashel Farm two year olds.  In the first heat CF Time Bandit (Seamus) took first with CF Calico Jack (Casey) owned by my toddler daughter, coming in a close second.  Seamus is an enthusiastic lure courser while Casey doesn't seem to think chasing plastic bags warrants a whole lot of excitement.  At the end of the line for the LGRA race Casey was pleasantly surprised to find not a boring old plastic bag but a furry toy with a wonderful noisy squawker inside.  That was all he needed to pour on the afterburners and Seamus came in second the rest of the day.  In the first run Tony dislocated a hind toe.  It popped right back in and he showed no signs of lameness but it was decided that he better rest it to heal any possible damage to the ligaments.  With a replacement needed for Sunday Debutante (Carrie) was drafted.  Her first two runs were nice but Casey took her both times.  Once she figured out the program though she ripped in at 1st place in the final heat showing the talent that kept her in A at Wonderland.  Although she came to us kind of by accident Carrie will be a fine addition to Cashel's Dream Team.  Casey's proud owner, my 3 year old daughter Alafair, is enjoying all the bragging rights of beating mommy's dogs at the races.

Casey and Seamus wait patiently in the paddock.
Seamus runs for home in the first race.
Having figured out the plan - Casey is long gone!
